BOB is my final project as a student in the industrial design department at "Bezalel Academy of Art and Design", Jerusalem. 

it's wood laminated chair inspired by reflection symmetry. BOB expresses symmetry in both the visual and structural sense. Bob's legs echo the seat and back rest.

The chair is build from four identical  U shaped parts all coming out of the same mold, the parts are then cut and and pieced together to crate the chair.

Skinny BOB is the lighter version with metal leg. 

The legs are connected to the sides of the seat and depend on the curved wood strength, this allows the seat to be floating in the air.

Tools used:

Pen & Peancil, cardboard, Knife, Solidworks, Keyshot and ten fingers

wood lamination is a known and common production method, but not a big industry in Israel as most of the wooden furniture is imported.  to produce the chair as I imagined it I had to build it myself. this called for a lot of creative thinking, problem solving, detailed planning and a few helping hands. this video shows part of the production process...
